We are pleased to announce a Call for Papers for a thematic issue of the _ Czech Sociological Review_ titled:
“Re-imagining Sport for Social Change: Perspectives from Central and Eastern Europe.”
This issue aims to critically explore how sport is imagined, utilized, and contested as a catalyst for social change in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). We invite contributions that address empirical, theoretical, and methodological questions related to:

    * Sport and social imaginaries in CEE
    * Historical, political, and economic legacies shaping sport for development
    * Role of NGOs, social movements, and sport diplomacy
    * Olympic movement and corporate social responsibility in the region

Important Dates:

    * Abstract submission: 31 March 2026
    * Full manuscript: 31 October 2026
